“Oh, heaven’s above! I’ve won how much?”
Today’s draw day was extra special as the RSL Queensland team came together to change the life of not just one, but TWO people!
After phoning the winner of Draw 385 who walked away with an ENTIRE apartment complex PLUS $1 million in gold, it was time to call one of our valued VIP members to let them know they had just won $2.4 million in gold in our VIP13 Heroes Draw.
Already buzzing with excitement from the first winner’s phone call, the team waited in anticipation as RSL Queensland Senior Sales Manager, Sebastian Cox dialled our lucky winner, Lauren* from Howrah, TAS.
After three unsuccessful attempts of trying to contact Lauren, the team finally made contact on the fourth phone call.
“Oh, heaven’s above! I’ve won how much?” said Lauren tearfully and in disbelief.
After learning that she is now $2.4 million richer, Lauren couldn’t contain her excitement.
“I am going to have to put the phone down soon to try and control my shaking. RSL Queensland is such a great cause to support. You never think this is going to be the outcome of helping, you just do it for the veterans”, said Lauren.
The call got even better for our VIP13 Heroes Draw winner as her $30 VIP ticket book purchase meant she will also receive an extra $30,000 in gold!

Meet Adam Mitchell
After 12 years serving as a dog handler, Adam transitioned to civilian life, rediscovering his purpose with the support of RSL Queensland and Man’s Best Friend, his retired military dog Fod. Sadly, she passed away at the end of 2020 and it’s through the assistance of his RSL Sub Branch community that Adam has been able to find a way to remember his loyal companion.
